Athens City Breaks:
Athens plus 2 days Delphi Meteora (6 days)
Day 1 – Athens
Arrival in Athens and check in to the hotel. Balance of day at leisure. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2 – Athens
After breakfast, you will commence your guided Half Day Athens Sightseeing Tour which will give you an overall view of Athens and its monuments with the highlight of the tour being a visit to the world famous ancient Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum. Afterwards, you will be taken back to your hotel where you will have the afternoon and evening free to wander around the magnificent city of Athens on your own. Overnight.
Day 3 – Athens
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city of Athens on your own, visit the museums or join one of the optional tours described below. Overnight.
Day 4 – Delphi, Kalambaka
After breakfast, leave for the renowned Delphi, via Thebes, Livadia and the picturesque village of Arachova, enjoying the breathtaking scenery from the slopes of Mt. Parnassus till Itea. Arrive in Delphi and visit the impressive archaeological site, once considered the centre of the earth and universe, today famous for its theatre, the Temple of Apollo and the ancient ruins. After lunch, drive to Kalambaka via picturesque villages and towns of Central Greece. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5 – Kalambaka, Meteora, Athens
After breakfast, leave for nearby Meteora to visit the Byzantine Monasteries. Precariously hanging over the sinister abysses, these unworldly hermitages compose one of the most breathtaking sites on earth. Of the 24 monasteries built through the years only 5 are still inhabited and can be visited: Great Meteora, Varlaam, Aghia Triada, San Stefano and Roussanou (the last 2 are run by nuns). You will visit 2-3 monasteries and see the priceless historical and religious treasures they contain. Return to Athens passing the heroic monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae. Overnight.
Day 6 – Athens
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the airport.
This 6 Day / 5 Overnight tour incorporates a guided tour of Athens and a 2 Day Delphi and Meteora Tour and is fully inclusive of the following:

1. Athens By Night (Dinner and Folkloric Show) Euro 59,00 per person The evening will start with a ride to the port of Piraeus, passing by the Port of Zeas (marina for private yachts), and a short stop at the famous Mikrolimano where participants will enjoy a drink of ouzo with Greek appetizers. Dinner in a typical Greek Tavern with bouzouki music and Greek Folk Dances. (20:15 – 00:30, please consider that departure is earlier due to pick up of tour participants from their hotels)

2. One Day Cruise to the Saronic Gulf Islands Euro 94,00 per person In the morning, pick up by bus, from Athens to Piraeus for your embarkation to the cruise boat. At 8.30 departure to Hydra, arrival at 11.45. Here you have free time for a walk or a swim. At 13.30 embarkation and sail for Aegina past through Poros and the seashore of Peloponnese. The lunch will be served during the voyage. At 15.30 we arrive at Aegina where you have time for a swim. Optional excursion, by bus, to the fine preserved Temple of Afea Athena. At 18.00 embarkation for the voyage of return to the port. Arrival at Piraeus late in the afternoon. (08:00 – 19:15, please consider that departure is earlier due to pick up of tour participants from their hotels)

3. Cape Sounion in the afternoon Euro 40,00 per person Drive along the coastal road, past the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza to the most Southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon stand. On the way, you have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you have time to walk at leisure on the rocky promontory of Sounion. (14:30 – 18:30, please consider that departure is earlier due to pick up of tour participants from their hotels)

4. Full Day Argolis Euro 94,00 per person Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides – the city “rich in gold” of the ancient poets. Visit the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs etc. Depart for Nafplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress. In the afternoon, leave for Epidaurus to visit the Theatre (4th century B.C.), famous for its astonishing acoustics. Return to Athens by the National Road connecting Epidaurus with Corinth. Lunch in Mycenae or in Nafplion. (08:45 – 19:00, please consider that departure is earlier due to pick up of tour participants from their hotels)
